Many people believe a perfect floor, polished to a mirror finish, is required for air bearing usage.
Not so! Most Airfloat equipment is designed to operate on machine-troweled concrete. The floor does need to be reasonably flat and level, however. Click here for more information, or call 800-888-0018 today to speak with an application engineer.
Absolutely. Many Airfloat customers require a partially or fully custom build, and we have experience working on projects of all scales. If you’re ready to talk about your custom project, let’s start a conversation.
Most plant air systems are suitable for air bearing equipment. Most have adequate pressure, usually over 80 psi. However, make certain adequate flow is available for the equipment.
The required air consumption for good operation of an air bearing, carrying a capacity load on an average floor surface, is 3 SCFM per foot of air bearing perimeter.
If total plant air demand in your facility causes pressure to fluctuate greatly, a regulator will be effective in giving a constant supply pressure. If supply pressure remains fairly constant (80-100 psi), a regulator is not required.
Regulators that are required for controls or components will be built into the equipment.
